Fourth Annual Blue Ridge Cyclocross Cup

    At 5:30 PM on Tuesday October 18, Staunton hosts round four of the Fourth Annual Blue Ridge Cyclocross Cup at Montgomery Hall Park. Please come out and support the Queen City ’crossers as they take on Rocktown (h’burg) and Foofville (c’ville). The race will be 40 minutes long and promises to be exciting. Racers will have color-coded number plates to make it easy for you to cheer for Queen City and heckle the other racers.

Mountain Biking Team for Middle & High School

Are you in Middle School or High School? Do you want to become part of a new mountain biking team? There are a couple of clinics coming to town to help you get ready for the 2012 Virginia High School Mountain Bike Series. There's no charge, just be sure to bring your mountain bike and your helmet to Montgomery Hall Park in Staunton!

Harvest Moon Festive Century/Metric Ride

Sept 24 - 25, 2011

Ride leaves at 8:30 AM on Saturday September 24, 2011 from the Bath County High School in Hot Springs, VA.

Cycle through the scenic mountain villages and the legendary beauty of the County of Bath in the Alleghany Highlands of Western Virginia.

Weekly Group Rides

Unless otherwise noted, rides start at Black Dog Bikes in Staunton at 5:30 or 6PM. Call 540-887-8700 if the weather looks iffy or for info on impromptu rides…

  • Monday Evening Casual Mountain Bike Ride. Join us as we hit the woodland trails in Stauton's Montgomery Hall Park. 5-10 miles, ride pace is casual - no rider left behind!
  • Tuesday Evening Medium-Paced Road Ride. Join us for a brisk ride through the scenic Shenandoah Valley countryside. Get a good workout without going hardcore. 15-20 miles.
  • Thursday Evening Fast Road Bike Ride. The highly acclaimed weekly World Championship Road Ride of Augusta County! This is a fast-paced ride with regroups. KOMs and sprints will have you digging deep into your suitcase of courage. Or not. 25-30 miles.
  • Friday Morning Extreme Dawn Patrol. Meet at Black Dog at 6AM for a one or two hour-long mountain bike ride (depending on hour early we actually get started or if we even manage to get out of bed at all).

5th Annual Queen City Century a Big Success!

On Sunday June 12 2010, nearly 50 cyclists showed up for the Fifth Annual Queen City Century. The weather just about perfect as participants enjoyed an exhilarating ride through the Shenandoah Valley's breath-taking vistas. Be sure to join us for next year's Queen City Century!
